1994, South Africa achieves democracy and mother Africa opens her doors and her heart to South Africans wishing to travel and explore this stunning and wild continent. This was also the year that Maplanga Africa Tours & Safaris was born. We started the company to show South Africans what countries such as Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana had to offer, based on our own personal experiences. This still holds true today, we market what we have done, flown and stayed in.
Our initial trip was a self drive through Zimbabwe to Victoria Falls and Livingstone. It was a trip we will never forget: Jo-burg - Beit Bridge - Hwange - Victoria Falls - Livingstone - Binga - Kariba -Chinoyi - Great Zimbabwe Ruins - Jo'burg. Since then we have done many, many trips and some of these are available for you to read in our Blog Owners Chris and Natalie Wood head up Maplanga Africa, which in 2015 celebrated 20 years in the travel industry.
