Fishing in the rapids below Victoria Falls has not been available commercially until now. If you are a serious Tiger enthusiast looking to do something different, this is the package for you. Best done in low water season so you get to fish in rapid number 1 (The Boiling Pot) below the cascading water of the Falls.

Extreme Fishing Package Itinerary

Day1:

Scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Livingstone ( Vic Falls Zambia) arriving around lunch time.

You will be met at Livingstone airport and transferred to The Zambezi Waterfront. Accommodation here is in a standard en suite room on a bed and breakfast basis.

At approximately 4 pm depart on the HMV Makumbi from The Waterfront jetty for an afternoon sundowner cruise. All drinks and snacks are included are the cruise. The boat returns to The Waterfront just after sunset.

 

Day 2

You will be collected after breakfast for your day of rafting and fishing. You start above rapid number 1, fishing in the boiling pot.  Fishing below rapid number 9. Rapid 10 is good as well as there is a big pool there. Raft/fish up to Rapid 21 where you will overnight in a bush camp on the white sandy beach. There is a chef in camp  to prepare a scrumptious dinner.

Guests overnight in big tents (2,4 x 3 x 2 m high) with stretchers and 50 mm high density mattresses and sleeping bag provided.

Camp facilities include: Long drop toilet,  table with camping chairs provided -  in short, the bush camp is basic but comfortable.

Night fishing for Cornish Jack that occur in deep waters and are night active predatory fish.

 

Day 3:
After a good English breakfast prepared by the cook start off for more fishing at Rapid 21 and rapid 23.  Raft/Fish up to rapid 25. Cable car out of the gorge. Lunch at the top of the gorge before transferring back to Livingstone to overnight at The Zambezi Waterfront (BB basis) once more.

 

Day 4:
Breakfast at leisure. Transfer to Livingstone airport for scheduled flight to Johannesburg.

 

This package includes:

  • Return flights between Livingstone and Johannesburg
  • Airport transfers in Livingstone
  • 2 nights accommodation at The Zambezi Waterfront in a standard en suite chalet on a bed and breakfast basis.
  • 1 x Zambezi sunset cruise inclusive of drinks, snacks and park fees

rafting/fishing trip:

  • At least one ‘trip leader’ (river guide with at least 6 years experience, first aid certificate) per trip, and all necessary rafting gear.
  • A Satellite phone for emergencies
  • Dinner, breakfast and lunch prepared by our qualified chef
  • Limited drinks: 2 beers per person, a bottle of wine for every 4 clients for dinner (if clients want to drink more, they are welcome to bring/buy their own drinks and we will take it down to rapid #21. Unlimited drinking water and juice included.
  • All camping equipment as described above
  • Cable car ride out of the gorge at rapid #25
  • All fees payable to the authorities

 

Not included in the package:

  • Visas where required
  • All fishing gear
  • Personal travel and medical insurance
  • Additional meals and drinks not specified

 

Please note:

  • There are a maximum of 4 people per raft.
  • Livingstone is in a malaria area. We recommend that guests consult their doctor for suitable malaria prophylactics. A Yellow Fever certificate is required for all South African guests and guests travelling back to SA (even if only in transit).
