  MUSHROOM LODGE
Mushroom Lodge is one of South Luangwa National Park's oldest camps and certainly one with the most interesting history in the area, as this was once the first president of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda’s private Luangwa getaway.
Centrally located within the South Luangwa National Park, Mushroom Lodge is perfectly positioned for exceptional game viewing, whilst relaxing at the lodge or on game drives.

 

  ACCOMMODATION     GAME ACTIVITIES    

The lodge has 12 double en-suite chalets, accommodating twin or double bed options and a spacious lounge complete with mini bar.Each chalet also has a private verandah that overlooks the lagoon.

In addition to the chalets guests can enjoy a slice of history and stay at The Presidential House. Ideal for individuals, couples, families or groups of up to ten occupants, the house has five bedrooms and is situated next to the Nsaka and swimming pool.


 

Safari activities at Mushroom Lodge include game drives in open safari vehicles equipped with snacks and beverages and guided safari walks undertaken with an armed game scout and a tracker.

  • The main area of the lodge has a large undercover verandah. Its here, overlooking the lagoon that meals are served. The lagoon is a popular watering hole for the game in the area.
  • The Mushroom Pub is a great social meeting area to discuss the day's events over a cold beer or glass of fine wine!
  • A centrally placed swimming pool furnished with comfortable pool loungers.
  • Wireless internet keeps guests "connected'
  • Children over the age of six are welcome at Mushroom Lodge and Presidential House.
  • Children are welcomed with a booklet and games on arrival at the lodge in order for them to also experience the magic of the Wildlife in South Luangwa Park.
