The main area of the camp which houses the dining and lounge area, is a large Bedouin style tent, which allows for the cool breezes from the river to flow through the camp.
Alongside the main area lies the swimming pool ( an essential on the Lower Zambezi in the summer months!) which faces the Zambezi River.
There are seven river facing en suite safari tents that are stylishly decorated. Mosquito nets surround the beds at night. Twin or double bed configurations are offered at the camp.
Kulefu is a seasonal camp open which is open in the months of no rainfall between May and mid November each year during . June to August are the coldest months and guests will need winter clothes to keep the chill at bay for evening and early morning game or Tiger fishing expeditions. From late August the weather warms up quickly and progressively until the rains come.
General info: Children 12 years and older welcome at Zambezi Kulefu Camp Batteries can be charged by generator. Light in the evening is supplied via a 220 volt inverter. Traditional paraffin lamps illuminate pathways and tent entrances. Visa, MasterCard and Amex are accepted at Kulefu. (No Diners card) |

The Lower Zambezi is renown for Tiger fishing. People come from all over the world to experience the explosive tug of the Tiger as it hits the lure. October, the hottest month of the year in Zambia is also the best time to go Tiger fishing.
All fishing at Kulefu Camp is on a catch and release basis.
Game viewing in the Lower Zambezi Park is excellent. There are healthy populations of lion, leopard, elephant and wild dog as well as plains game and smaller species such as serval, genet and civet in the Lower Zambezi park. Game drives are undertaken from Kulefu with professional guides in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles.
Walking safaris with a professional Kulefu guide and armed game scout afford guests the opportunity to experience the thrill of tracking game on foot.
Canoe Safaris are the time honoured way of enjoying the wildlife and the vast pristine beauty of the Zambezi River. These are undertaken with professional river guides from Kulefu Camp.
